Use the floss in and around each tooth. Careful flossing will remove plaque and leftover food that your toothbrush can’t reach. If flossing is difficult for you, check your local drug or grocery store for other handy devices that can help you to floss.
Mouthwash
Using mouthwash can kill bacteria and keep bad breath under control. There are various types of mouthwashes available, and some have antiseptic qualities or added fluoride. Remember, even if you rinse with mouthwash, you still must brush and floss.
Limit Your Sugar Consumption
While we all like to have sweets occasionally, limiting these treats will go a long way to improving the health of your mouth. Sugar is broken down by your saliva and the bacteria in your mouth to create acids. These acids can dissolve the enamel on your teeth causing cavities.
Eat Snacks That Will Clean Your Teeth
Crunchy fruits and vegetables can help keep your teeth clean by scraping them while you eat them. A good diet also provides important vitamins and minerals to maintain healthy gums.
Don’t Use Your Teeth as Tools
Your teeth were not meant to open packages, crack open nuts, cut string, or to remove a stuck bottle top. Use your teeth to chew and bite food. Be kind to them, and they will do their job.
